The Unseasonal™ is an international special projects magazine created to be an alternative take on the fashion industry and the art world.[1] It is available biannually in print and online at theunseasonal.com throughout the year. [2].

The Unseasonal™ features curated pictorials, stories about creators, and collaborations with sought-after personalities in the fields of fashion, contemporary art, and celebrity culture. The Unseasonal™ is a magazine about passion, the change in seasons—both in fashion and the world—the unusual, travel, and the human condition. It was developed as a departure from the speed of fast fashion and social media and was designed to represent the feeling of vacation, of slowing down, of exotic places, escapism, dreams, architecture, and lightness of being, all with elements from the past, the future, Romanticism, and impulses for making the world a better place. Fine art photography and writing are at its core.[3].

The Unseasonal™ was founded by artist and photographer Ger Ger, who is also the editor-in-chief.[4]

History[edit]

The first print issue of the magazine (Prelude) includes work of interior and portrait photographer Roland Beaufre (Vogue Décoration, Connaissance des Arts, The World of Interiors, Casa Vogue); the first official photographer of Le Monde, Gil Rigoulet; award-winning artist and photographer Ger Ger (L'Officiel, Vogue, Interview, Harper's Bazaar, People, Glamour, WWD); fashion, portrait, and beauty photographer Paul Westlake (Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, ELLE, Marie Claire, GQ); travel photographer Kevin Russ; artist/painter Nick Turner; and Grammy-winning fashion, celebrity, and portrait photographer George Holz (GQ, InStyle, Vanity Fair, Glamour, Rolling Stone). It features stories and pictorials on American architect and punk modernist Robert Stone, actress Charlotte Taschen (daughter of Benedikt Taschen), a look inside Dior, George Holz on working with Helmut Newton, David Chokachi (from Baywatch), Vivienne Westwood and the human condition. This issue also features several award-winning fashion spreads.
