David Dobrik, founder of The Vlog Squad

The Vlog Squad is a collective squad of vloggers featured in the vlogger David Dobrik's main vlog as a recurring group of friends. Because the cast of the vlogs samples Dobrik's larger friend group, membership rotates on an ongoing basis. Because the cast is, at its core, a friend group, membership in the cast of the vlogs is amorphous.[1] The name "The Vlog Squad" was given to the group by their viewers and fans and eventually, the name stuck.

[The nominations are] insane, and I can't say this enough—it's all because of these guys," he added. "I have a group of like, 15, 20, 30 friends, and they help me day in and day out with all the videos."[2]

In December 2020, Dobrik was named one of Forbes 30 Under 30 for the year 2021 under the category of social media as well as one of the featured honorees in that category.[3]

In the news[edit]

[4] In the same month Dobrik bought a $9.5 million mansion in Los Angeles.[5]

In December 2020, Dobrik was also named by Forbes as one of the highest-paid YouTube stars of 2020.[6] In the same month, two members Vlog Squad, Zane Hijazi and Heath Hussar, released a line of coffee that sold out in the first day of release.[7]

Controversy[edit]

In February 2021, David Dobrik and Jason Nash were accused of sexual harassment by Seth Francois, a former Vlog Squad member.[8] In the same month, another former member Nik Keswani, who is better known as BigNik, accused Dobrik of bullying and stated that it was the reason he left the group in 2018.[9][10][11]
