Theresah Ankomah (b. 1989) is a Ghanaian artist.

Personal life and education[edit]

Ankomah is an artist based and working in Ghana.[1][2] She is an alumna of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology where she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts - BFA (Sculpture) in 2014 and later a Master's Degree in Fine Arts.[1]

Career[edit]

Theresah's practice borders around sculpture, weaving and basketry. She works primarily with kenaf, jute and palm leaves.[3] By transforming these baskets through dyeing, stitching, twisting and weaving, her works investigate the complexities of 'craft' in relation to trade and how underpinning issues of geopolitics and capitalism resonate in the daily usage of onion baskets.[4][5]
