Toddlercon
Toddlercon, or toddlerkon refers to an obscure genre of hentai manga and anime which depicts toddler characters in a suggestive or erotic manner.[1][2] As with lolicon and shotacon, toddlercon is related to the concepts of kawaii (cuteness) and moe (in which characters are presented as young, cute or helpless in order to increase reader identification and inspire protective feelings).
Laws have been enacted in various countries, including in Japan, which regulate explicit content featuring children or childlike characters.
Etymology[edit]
The term toddlercon is a portmanteau of the English words toddler (child starting to walk) and complex (complex).
The term does not exist natively in Japanese. The closest Japanese equivalent is べビコン, bebicon, short for "baby complex".
