Tommy Carbone

Tommy Carbone (born 1968 in Brooklyn, New York) is an American novelist, memoirist, and PhD engineering manager.

Carbone has authored articles in technical journals, magazines, a memoir, and a novel.

He has won several writing awards from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the American Society of Engineering Management (ASEM).[citation needed]

Background[edit]

Tommy Carbone was born in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn, New York. The years of his childhood are described in his 2018 memoir, "Growing Up Greenpoint - A Kid's Life in 1970s Brooklyn." The book has been described as, "A lot of fun. The stories are full of heart."[1]

Carbone studied electrical engineering at RIT, and earned a doctorate in engineering management from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He has presented over thirty conference papers and written for technical journals.

From his world travels managing projects, he is writing a memoir about his observations and what he learned from different cultures.This book will be published in 2019.

Carbone published his first novel, "The Lobster Lake Bandits - Mystery at Moosehead," in 2018. The book is a mystery with historical fiction aspects. It is set in the Maine Highlands, in the area surrounding Moosehead Lake. The Golden State Media Concepts Book Review has noted the novel is, "One part mystery, part historical fiction, part love letter to Maine, with a smidge of romance thrown in for good measure."[2]
