Tomohiko Nakamura (Japanese: 中村 友彦, 1983 –) is a Japanese translator, author, and business owner of KARIS Translation Service.[1].
Personal profile[edit]
Nakamura holds STEP Eiken Grade 1 and United Nations Associations Test of English Grade A[2], and is a member of the translator network “Amelia” as of 2019[3].
He is a Clinical Fellow (Professional) certified by the Japan Society for Spiritual Care[4].
He holds amateur 3-dan rank officially certified by the Japan Shogi Association[5].
He is a member of high IQ societies, including HELLIQ Society, ISI-Society, Global Genius Generation Group (4G)[6], and World Genius Directory[7].

- September 13, 1998: Nakamura won first runner-up in the senior division at “JYYA Japan Yo-yo Contest 1998”[9]. (List of yo-yo champions in Japan)
- April 2006 – July 2010: Worked as a Systems Engineer and Translator at a shipbuilding system company.
- August 2010 – September 2011: Earned a Master of Arts in International Relations degree at the University of Warwick.
- February 2012 – February 2014: Worked as a Researcher/Adviser at the Consulate-General of Japan in Los Angeles.
- March 2014 – June 2017: Earned a Master of Divinity degree at Fuller Theological Seminary.
- April 22–23, 2017: Won first place in the B class at “22nd US Shogi Tournament” held in Los Angeles[10]
- August 2017 – May 2018: Worked as a Chaplain Resident at Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center, providing spiritual care for patients and their families.
- February 2019: Started the business “KARIS Translation Service”.
