Torena is an American hardcore punk band from Oxnard, California, formed in 2020. The band plays hardcore with influences from death metal, punk and powerviolence,.[1] Their debut album, No Control (2022) was released through DAZE Records.[2]

History

The band started in 2020 in Oxnard, California, with longtime friends and former band mates David, Dante, Julien and Mika. Named after the Oxnard Street, members of Torena performed music in hardcore punk bands together prior to forming; David Stalsworth being in Oxnard hardcore bands Civil Conflict, Along with Mikaele Ryan & Nothing Special.[3] In 2021, the band self released the album “Cerebellum Prison” to critical praise. In April 2023 they performed at the Rapid Skateshop Festival in Oxnard California, Alongside Cola Boyy Militarie Gun & Dead Heat Among others.[4] In 2023, they traveled on the "Monster Outbreak" U.S. tour with Drain headlining, along with Drug Church, Gel, and MSPAINT among others. On October 4, 2023, their EP Evil Eyez was released through DAZE recordings and was recorded by producer Taylor Young (Regional Justice Center, Drain). They embarked on the Monster Outbreak “From the Bay to the USA” Tour in support of Sunami. In 2024 they performed at Rapid Fest 2 in Simi Valley, California, Flyover Fest 2024 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sound & Fury Fest in Los Angeles, and the Nardfest in Oxnard, California. In 2024, they released their full-length album No Control from Daze Recordings. This was followed by a 15-date European/UK Tour and a 7-date Asia Tour in 2025. Torena have played with Madball, Terror, Dr. Know, SPY, Stalag 13, Trash Talk, Retaliate, Hoods, and Killing time, among others.
