Tosen Borah (born 14 February 1950) is a former Indian footballer who played as a midfielder.[1]

Early life[edit]

Borah was born on 14 February 1950 in Naharkatiya, Assam. He completed his graduated from Cotton College and post graduation from Gauhati University. He successfully continued both study as well as football.[2]

Playing career[edit]

Borah started his lessons of football from his hometown Naharkatiya. After moving to Guwahati he played for Maharana Atheletic Club from 1967 to 1971.[1] He represented the Assam team in Santosh Trophy for four times in between 1969 to 1971. In 1972, he was picked by AIFF in Indian national team to participate in Pre-Olympic football championship which was held in Rangoon.[2]

Coaching[edit]

After the retirement from the game he acquired the NIS football coaching degree. He has served as the coach of Assam state senior team in the Santosh Trophy tournament and Assam Police Blues. He was also the selector of the junior Indian football team.[3][4]

Personal life[edit]

In 1972, Borah joined Namrup based Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation and retired in 2006 as an executive.[1] After retirement he is involved in coaching and various football related development activities.[2][5][6]
