Trell is a Lifestyle Social Commerce platform owned by Trell Experiences[2][3] having its registered office at Bengaluru, India. The application is for users to share their experiences, recommendations, and reviews for various categories by making videos.[4] It has categories of Fashion, Beauty, Personal Care, Recipes, Food, Travel, Movie and TV Reviews, Gadget Reviews and demos among others that have a duration from 3 to 5 minutes.[5][6][7] It also allows users to play games and invite others and buy products[8][9] Trell helps users to find meaningful content in video format[10] [11]
History
The application was developed by an Indian app development company called Trell Experiences and launched in August 2017, by IIT Bombay Alumni Arun Lodhi, Prashant Sachan, Pulkit Agrawal and NITIE Alumnus Bimal Kartheek Rebba.[9]
Trell started with an Instagram handle and then became a Social Commerce platform[12] Today, it is in 8 regional languages [13] When TikTok was banned in India on 30 June 2020, the Trell app saw a huge spike in users with several TikTok users registering.[2][4]
In August 2020, Trell started focusing on monetisation.[14] They released Trell Anthem "Keh Jo Kehna Hai" which is sung by Sukhwinder Singh[15] Later, for a change in Leadership, Dina D'Sousa joined Trell as VP Monetisation[16]
Partnership
Trell has partnered with Chennai Super Kings in 2020 for its digital mandate which was held in UAE and launched a campaign with #CSKMillionStrong[17][18]
Initiatives against misinformation
During the pandemic, Trell helped to curate fake information and encouraged doctors on the platform for awareness.[19]

Trell is a marketplace for customers and brands; it earns commission from brand partnerships/collaboration on its platform. [20]
Technology
The Trell app has editing tools on the platform and allows users to upload their content. It allows users to use filters and effects for videos. [9]
