The All-Ukrainian Movement “Tvoya Krayina” (“Your Country”; Ukrainian: «Твоя країна») is an open non-commercial network movement which has been operating since January 22, 2014.[1]. “Tvoya Krayina” was launched by Yevhen Demchenko, the former head of the Foundation of Regional Initiatives NGO.

The main goal of the Movement is to show the country in cultural way, to give an opportunity for participants to make new acquaintances with people from different regions, to educate the youth and motivate it to be an active citizen.

The members of the movement organize trips (called “visits”) to various Ukrainian cities, towns and villages that last for 3-5 days. Each visit has a replete program featuring quests and excursions, teambuilding activities, lectures and workshops, meetings with famous people, visiting museums, theaters and other interesting places[2]

Visits[edit]

"Tvoya Krayina" visits have already taken place in all Ukrainian oblast centers, in particular in the capital[3], as well as in small towns. In addition to oblast centers, visits were held in the following towns and villages:

Values[edit]

  • Trust. During the visits, people let strangers from other cities live in their homes. This can be made possible only thanks to trust. It’s an integral part of social development as well.
  • Nationwide. It is a well-known fact that Ukrainians love all parts of their country, such as Slobozhanschyna, Tavria, Polissya, Donbass, Galicia, and Transcarpathia. But it’s not enough — they should strive to discover Ukraine and know its diversity from their own experience. It’s impossible to make Ukraine better without such people.
  • Love towards people. There can be different people on the project. That’s why sometimes the participants can feel like fish out of water. So, organizers do their best by making visitors feel comfortable.

Participants[edit]

The movement is for people aged 18 to 28. The participation is free of charge. The participants are obligated to pay for their round-trip tickets themselves. Also, they should have money for some food, individual excursions, and souvenirs (optional.
