Uchenna Charity
Uchenna Charity Onwuamaegbu is a Nigerian STEAM educationist, the chairperson of the Anambra State Youth Advisory Board Committee, chief executive officer of EdufunTechnik and a recipient of the Global Gold Award Medal[citation needed] in the Technovation World Code and Pitch Challenge, for Girls in Silicon Valley, USA. She also received the Mandela Washington Fellow for outstanding young African leaders[1] and has trained 5,650 girls in rural communities in eastern Nigeria on coding, robotics, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education.[2]
She obtained a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nigeria. She has been involved in ensuring that mentally challenged young girls in her community receive the needed education and acquire skills that would help them bring about change in their society. She served as a social worker where she made education accessible for young mentally challenged girls. Through her organization, she has organized annual competitions that have enabled students in rural communities to build community-based solution mobile applications and apply artificial intelligence. Her partnership with Google has enabled her to teach students, teachers, and parents digital skills and online safety education.[3]
