Ulrich Winkler (born January 4, 1984) is a former American football defensive end.
Amateur career
Winkler had no experience in high school football or college football. He played amateur football in Germany from 1999 to 2004 for the Munich Cowboys.
Professional career
NFL Europe
Winkler was signed by the Rhein Fire in 2005 and played three seasons for Frankfurt Galaxy, recording 20 tackles and 4.5 sacks in 2007.
Cleveland Browns
In 2006, Winkler participated in the NFL International Development Practice Squad Program and spent the season on the Cleveland Browns' practice squad.
Tennessee Titans
Winkler spent the 2007 season as the international practice squad player for the Tennessee Titans. He recorded a sack in a preseason game against the Washington Redskins.[1][2] After the season, he was signed to a future contract in 2008.[3] He was placed on season-ending injured reserve in July.
He was released on June 16, 2009.
