Umar Khan (pronounced [ˈuːmɑːr ˈxaːn]; born June 7, 1982)[1] (Urdu: عمر خان) is a Pakistani Swedish actor, stunt performer, stunt coordinator and fight choreographer based in Los Angeles, California, U.S.. He is known for his roles in Captain America: Civil War, 6 Underground and Asura.[2]
Personal life
Khan is fluent in four languages: English, Swedish, Urdu and Hindi. He also speaks some Mandarin and Spanish, and lives in Los Angeles. Khan is trained in multiple Martial arts disciplines including Taekwondo, Wu Shu, Boxing, Muay Thai, Judo, Wrestling, Sambo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Capoeira, Wing Chun and Escrima.[3]
Career
Khan has performed stunts in films like: Captain America: Civil War where he played one of Crossbones’ mercenaries, 6 Underground, Asura, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, Deliver Us from Evil, Close Range where he played the role of "Sesma" and Catalyst. In Catalyst, he played one of the leading characters, Mohammad "Mo" Khaled, and also stunt coordinated and choreographed the fight scenes in the film. He also appeared in the TV shows: Lethal Weapon, SEAL Team, Teen Wolf, Rush Hour, NCIS: Los Angeles, Scorpion, The Brink, Bones, Person of Interest and Training Day where he performed stunts.[4]
In 2016, he was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Awards for "Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture" in the film Captain America: Civil War.[5]
