The Uncommon Grounds Coffeehouse is a small independent coffee shop in the Uptown area of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Background[edit]
According to the coffee shop's web page,[1] the house in which it sits was built in 1877.
Notoriety[edit]
Proudly affixed to the glass door one must pass through to enter the building is a cover from an issue of Every Day with Rachael Ray, in which the establishment's chai is praised. In addition to this widespread press, Uncommon has also:
- Won Best Coffee House in Minneapolis[2]
Criticisms[edit]
- The prices are expensive compared to most coffee shops in the Twin Cities as has been noted in many online reviews[3][4][5]
- Recently much of the seating upstairs has been removed[citation needed]
- Compensation for the baristas is less than that of more popular coffee shops in Minneapolis such as Dunn Bros[citation needed]
