The untitled DC Animated Movie Universe is an upcoming line of DC animated films based on characters by DC Comics. It will be produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment and distributed by Warner Home Video. This continuity will begin with Superman: Man of Tomorrow.

Development[edit]

Following the conclusion of the DC Animated Movie Universe, which ended with 2020's Justice League Dark: Apokolips War, a new Superman animated film was announced in July 2019 titled Superman: Man of Tomorrow at San Diego Comic Con.[1]

In August 2020, director Chris Palmer confirmed that Superman: Man of Tomorrow would be the start of a new DC animated movie universe.[2] At DC FanDome on August 25, two animated features were announced including Batman: The Long Halloween, a two-parter based on the comic book of the same name, and Justice Society: World War II, an original story.[3]

Superman: Man of Tomorrow (2020)[edit]

The film depicts the origin story of Kal-El how he grows up as Clark Kent and becomes the iconic superhero Superman.

In July 2019, a new Superman animated film titled Superman: Man of Tomorrow was announced at San Diego Comic Con. In May 2020, Darren Criss, Alexandra Daddario, Zachary Quinto, Ike Amadi, Ryan Hurst, Brett Dalton, Neil Flynn, Bellamy Young, Cristina Milizia, Eugene Byrd, April Stewart and Piotr Michae were cast as Kal-El / Clark Kent / Superman, Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, J'onn J'onzz / Martian Manhunter, Lobo, Rudy Jones / Parasite, Jonathan Kent, Martha Kent, Maya, Petey and Kaylie, Ron Troupe, Mrs. Ross and Perry White. Cissy Jones and David Chen were cast in undisclosed roles.[4][5]

Superman: Man of Tomorrow is scheduled to be released on August 23, 2020, on Digital platforms and on September 8, 2020 in 4K Ultra HD. The film had its world premiere on August 25, 2020, at DC FanDome.

Batman: The Long Halloween (2021-2022)[edit]

Batman is on the hunt for a serial killer known as the Holiday Killer.

The film was announced on August 24, 2015, during DC FanDome. It is based on the comic book of the same name.[3]

Justice Society: World War II (2021)[edit]

The film was announced on August 24, 2015, during DC FanDome along with Batman: The Long Halloween.[3] It will feature an original story not based on any comic.
