An upcoming American space opera film is being directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and co-written by Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson. Produced by Lucasfilm and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film will be part of the Star Wars franchise.

The project resurfaced in 2022 when The Ankler reported that Lindelof was working on a new Star Wars film.^[1] In October 2022, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy had been hired to direct the film. Lindelof is co-writing the project, though it is unknown at this time who his writing partner might be.^[2] Later that day, it was revealed that Justin Britt-Gibson would co-write the screenplay, and that the events of the film would take place after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019), although it would not be a continuation of the Skywalker saga.^[3]
