Dr. Utpalkumar Jashvantray Jivrajani born on 22 May 1966, is an Indian composer, musician, Singer, Narrator , Author, Lyricist, Music Distributor and Music Producer contributed in more than 20 Gujarati Movies and more than 700 Gujarati Hindi, Bhojpuri Music albums. Utpal Jivrajani known as “Shailesh-Utpal” “Utpal Jivrajani” “Dr.Utpal Thakkar” “Dj Docs” “Dr.Utpal Jivrajani”. Utpal Jivrajani has worked with Gujarati renown singers and folklorist like Padmashri Bhikhudan Gadhvi, Padmashri Diwaliben Bhil, Hemant Chauhan, Padmashri Shahabudin Rathod, Arvind Barot, Kirtidan Gadhvi, Osman Mir, Praful Dave, Vatsala Patil, Lalita Ghodadra, Kavita Das, Meena Patel, Vikram Thakor, Rakesh Barot, kamlesh Barot, Farida Mir etc. He has also composed songs for Bollywood’s renowned singers like Kavita Krishnamurti, Vinod Rathod, Richa Sharma, JoJo, Tyagraj Khadilkar, Javed Ali, Amey Date, Sadhna Sargam, Aishwarya Majmudar, Palak Muchhal, Mohammed Irfan, Pamela Jain, Khushboo Jain, Sumeet Baba, Sudesh Bhosale, Falguni Pathak.

Early life[edit]

Born in Rajkot, Utpal Jivrajani completed his primary and secondary education at a Jetpur village of Rajkot district. In the year 1989, he completed his Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.) from Gujarat Ayurved University, Jamnagar. Utpal Jivrajani was a batchmate of M.P. Bharti Shiyal, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha (Secretary of the Ministry of AYUSH). During the college life he acquired the experience of theaters, one act play, musical instruments play like Congo, percussion etc. After the completing internship, Utpal started practicing as an Ayurveda Doctor in Jetpur. He also get success in some of skin disease with Leech Application. In 1990, he got married with Parul Jivrajani, a homemaker from Rajkot and spent their early married life in Jetpur. After the birth of elder son Malhar Jivrajani, they migrated to Rajkot in order to hunt for better opportunities.

Career[edit]

Initially, Utpal Jivrajani started his career in 1993, with G. T. Sheth Cancer Hospital as a Medical Officer of National Cancer Control Program and visits more than 300 villages for oral cavity inspection and gives the lectures of De-Addiction with audio visual aspects. In 1996 he joined P. I. Healthcare where he was Medical officer and operated more than 1000 kidney stone operations with Lithotripsy. After completing the job, he was taking the Keyboard lesson from one of the renowned music directors of Gujarat state, Shri Kantibhai Sonchhatra.

In the year 1996 Utpal Jivrajani got the first call as a leading Gujarati Music Publisher of Mumbai “Rajashree Cassettes“ and started the career as Music Composer. He also learned all the technique of Analogue and digital recording during his tenure. He is one of the pioneer in digital recording in Saurashtra Kutch region of Gujarat state. He also engaged as a composer with the leading Music Publishers of India like T Series, Tips, Venus, MagnaSound, Moser Baer and all leading music publishers, film producers, directors like Ranjit Herma, Amar Kumar Jadeja, Ashok Patel, Atmaram Thakor, Raju Bhatt of Gujarat.

His first movie as a Music Composer was “Laju Ma Rahejo Manaraj (Un Released -1998 ) and won the “Best Music Director-Dhara Gurjari Award“ in 2010 for Gujarati Movie “Sacha Re Shamna Mara Sajan Na“ which remained hit at Gujarat box office. Gradually, he became the prominent Music Arranger, Composer, Director and shared his artworks in more than 700 audio /video albums. Disputes With Creation : In 2006 he created “Gujarati Shakira“ Audio lip-synced with “Hips Don’t Lie“ which made Colombian singer Shakira to oppose the song and dispute spreaded internationally where all the news channel favored to this Gujarati version.

Indian Actor Amitabh Bachchan tweeted against Utpal Jivrajani for the fake video campaigning of Narendra Modi which was spreaded worldwide on YouTube and other TV Channels. In 2014, he started his own venture to provide a complete event solution named as Rajkot Events. “Solah Shringar“ an Audi-Video theme base event became successful and got famous for Gujarati event concept. It served the voice over of Harish Bhimani and soon after Rajkot Events became recommended Event Management Company in Gujarat. Apart from this, he is an active member of Indian Performing Rights Society and helping the organization to reach the potential artists across the nation.

Utpal Jivrajani is also an authorized Music Distributor in the world’s leading music distribution platform like Gaana, JioSaavn, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon etc. and provides the complete solution for the artist to manage their audio and video artworks on various digital media.

He is also a prominent YouTuber and often known as ‘Shiromani – Chintamani’ for their remarkable comedy clips on the various digital media platform.
