Valecia Mc Geer (born June 25, 1999) is a singer and songwriter from Klerksdorp, North West, South Africa.
Early life
She matriculated from Fochville High School in 2017. She graduated with a five-year scholarship to Pearson Institute, an international institute to study her LLB law degree in New York City. But instead of going to university, she decided to tour Botswana, Namibia and the border of Angola.
When she was just three days old, she moved to St Lucia, lived there for eight years until she had to leave the ocean behind and move back to Gauteng.
Music career
2012-2017: Career beginnings
Her first performance was in 2012 when she entered a singing competition called Voices, where she got into the top 10. In 2014 she got her first guitar and didn’t put it down for an entire month, just learning how to master a G-chord. In 2017 she was the winner of a competition called “Rising Star”, where she could record an album and make a music video but decided to focus on her dream of becoming a lawyer.
2019: First Single and Diverse Unity
In 2019 she met record producer Tre at a bar where she worked and asked him if he would be able to help her record some music and help push her career forward within the music industry. A week later after that meeting, they met up at Tre's studio and began recording her first single called Summer.
Due to the jump start of her music career, Valecia went to seek out more help by requiring assistance from the known entity of Diverse Unity, which is an artist management company that helps artists in their music career.
