Victoria Selbach (born 1960 in Pittsburgh) is a contemporary realist American painter, best known for her striking nude paintings of women.[1] Most of Selbach's work involves paintings of women that appear in everyday domestic settings.[2][3][4][5]
Life
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Selbach drew from an early age. She studied drawing and pastel at the Carnegie Mellon Museum of Pittsburgh and continued her art classes at Carnegie Mellon University.[6] Later, she moved to New York City and graduated from Parsons School of Design with a degree in Fashion Design.[7] In 2008, after spending 20 years in corporate fashion design, she decided to concentrate fully on painting and become a full-time artist.[8]
Selbach's artworks have been exhibited in New York and throughout the United States including the Heckscher Museum of Art, The Butler Institute of American Art, Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art, Howard Tullman's Art Collection.[9]
