Lieutenant General Dr Vimal Arora (PVSM, AVSM, VSM & Bar, OSRE) is a retired Indian Army officer and dental surgeon who served as the Director General of Dental Services in the Armed Force Medical Services.[1][2] He later became the Chief Clinical Officer of Clove Dental.[3]
Early life and education
Vimal Arora completed his dental education at King George's Medical College, Lucknow, obtaining his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in Prosthodontics.[2] He obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (FDS RCPS) from Glasgow, United Kingdom.[2]
Military career
Arora was commissioned into the Army Dental Corps of the Indian Army in December 1977.[4] He served in the Indian Armed Forces for 38 years.[1][3] He has appeared on Indian Broadcast Media DD News discussing Armed Forces dental services.[4]

From 1983 to 1986, Arora served at the Forces Base Hospital in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, where he was involved in establishing a prosthodontic Laboratory. For his service in Oman, he received the Order of the Special Royal Emblem (OSRE) from the Sultanate of Oman.
Post-Military Career
Clove Dental
In March 2015, following his retirement from the Indian Armed Forces, Arora joined the Board of Directors of Clove Dental as a Director & Chief Clinical Officer.[3][10] Clove Dental reports a national footprint of clinics, a large clinical staff and serves patients across India.[11]
Clove Dental received the Times Business Award in 2023 for its use of technology in the dental industry.[11]

Lieutenant General Dr Vimal Arora has participated in clinical research projects and books.[13] He serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Dental Health & Research and has been involved in research projects focusing on oral health assessment and dental practice.[14][15] His research includes studies on oral health in urban Indian adults using intraoral cameras.[14]
