Vinveli is a private Unmanned Aerial Vehicle development and manufacturing company with headquarters in Chennai. The company is internally divided into civilian and defense arms, and has offices in Chennai, Cedar Rapids and Aigle.[1]

The civilian arm of the company builds cost-efficient infrastructure for small drones.[2] This technology helps the drones to extend flight time, cover more area, and eliminate the need for manual labor.[3] This is advantageous, especially in the case of remote and inaccessible areas, including oil pipelines, wind farm turbines, and electric lines.[4] The company additionally provides data management and analysis solutions.[5][6]

The defense arm of the company focuses on building advanced medium or large drones for reconnaissance and combat.[7][8]

History[edit]

Vinveli was formed in May 2013 by Gokul Anandayuvaraj. It was founded to help realize the potential of the CubeSat standard and bring small satellite technologies developed in research institutions to the commercial market.

The company shifted its strategy in early 2014 to focus solely on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. It has since abandoned its satellite services. Vinveli's vision is that, in the future, airspace will be populated with UAVs ferrying goods to people, while also providing valuable data, interconnected to form a Smart planet.[9]

Vinveli's engineering facilities are located in Chennai.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Platforms[edit]

Vero[edit]

The Vero is a multicopter platform designed to carry light—approximately 30 kilograms (66 lb)—payloads. Vero has three configurations: quad, hex, and oct. It is primarily used by civilian organizations and features lightweight carbon composite structures for increased speed.

Vero Agriculture - V6A[edit]

The Vero V6A is an agriculture drone designed to be used for pesticide application. It can carry approximately 6 kilograms (13 lb) of pesticides.[10]

Vero Agriculture - V8A[edit]

The Vero V8A is a multicopter drone designed to be used for pesticide application. It can carry approximately 10 kilograms (22 lb) of pesticides.[11]

Vero Agriculture - V6A-Pro[edit]

The Vero V6A-Pro is a multicopter drone designed to be used for pesticide application. It can carry approximately 20 kilograms (44 lb) of pesticides.[12]

Helio[edit]

The Helio[13] is a series of Vertical Take-off & Landing (VTOL) long-range UAV platforms designed for commercial and surveillance use. The helicopter type UAV is designed to carry medium loads—approximately 50 kilograms (110 lb)—for up to 300 kilometres (190 mi).

Aero[edit]

The Aero[14] is a series of fixed-wing, long-range UAV platforms designed for commercial and surveillance use. Built with stealth in mind, Aero systems are used by defense agencies around the world. They are designed to carry medium loads —approximately 20 kilograms (44 lb)— for up to 300 kilometres (190 mi).
