In 2004 the Miss Universe Organization filed a trademark lawsuit against Virgelia Productions Inc and its owner Virgelia Villegas. Jennifer Pham was crowned queen of Miss Asia USA in 2006 at the 18th annual pageant, conducted on April 23 at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, California, and Jennifer Chu was crowned queen of Miss Asia USA in 2005 at the 17th annual pageant, conducted on April 23 at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, California.
