Where Love Is Illegal is a storytelling and Social documentary photography based project sharing the stories of LGBTI community members who have survived in the face of discrimination worldwide. Where Love is Illegal was launched in May 2015. This project quickly gained support and social media traction resulting in over 100,000 followers on Instagram by the end of August 2015, receiving LGBTI stories of discrimination and survival from all over the world. Where Love Is Illegal has also influenced media coverage resulting in the January 2017 subscriber cover of National Geographic which made history by featuring a nine-year-old transgender girl, Avery Jackson.
