Dong Sicheng (Chinese: 董思成; pinyin: Dǒng Sīchéng; born October 28th, 1997), professionally known as Winwin (Korean: 윈윈; stylized in all caps), is a Chinese dancer, singer, rapper, actor, and model. He is a member of South Korean boy band NCT under SM Entertainment, having debuted in the group’s second sub-unit, NCT 127, in 2016.[1] He later debuted in its rotational sub-unit, NCT U, in 2018.[2] Lastly, he debuted in NCT’s China-based sub-unit, WayV, in 2019.[3]

Early life[edit]

Winwin was born in Wenzhou, Zhejiang, China, on October 28th, 1997. He studied both at the Beijing Dance Academy and the Central Academy of Drama.[4]

In 2013, casting agents from SM Entertainment spotted Winwin outside of his school. He stated he was initially apprehensive and gave them a false phone number. The agents persisted and eventually, Winwin attended an SM audition, and passed.[4][5]

Career[edit]

On July 3rd, 2016, it was announced by SM Entertainment that Winwin would debut as a member of NCT 127, the second NCT sub-unit. NCT 127 debuted with the single “Fire Truck” on July 7th, 2016.[6]

In early 2018, SM Entertainment revealed that Winwin would be in the lineup for NCT 2018’s title track, “Boss," marking his NCT U debut.[2][7]

On November 22nd, 2018, SM Entertainment stated that Winwin would not be participating in promotions for NCT 127’s comeback Regulate, in order to prepare for WayV’s debut in January 2019.[8] Since then, Winwin has not promoted with NCT 127.

WayV made their debut on January 17th, 2019, with a Chinese version of the song “Regular.”[9] Winwin’s primary work as an idol since 2019 has been as a WayV member.

For the first time in nearly three years, it was announced that Winwin would feature on a title track for NCT’s second full-group project, Resonance. Winwin made his first NCT U comeback on November 23, 2020, with the song “90s Love.”[10]

In 2021, it was announced that Winwin would officially go into acting as an additional venture.[11]

NCT’s 4th full-group project, Golden Age, featured all 20 members on one of its title tracks, “Golden Age.” Aside from participating in the titular song, Winwin also featured on two other songs, “Alley Oop” and “Interlude: Oasis.” The album was released in August 2023.[12]
