The journal has been published by the "Remembrance and Future" Centre since 2011. According to the index of scholarly journals produced by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for the years 2013–2016, “Wrocław Yearbook of Oral History” was classified in part B and carried 5 points. In 2019 the Ministry increased the number of points awarded to 20 as it is a peer-reviewed journal meeting all the appropriate standards related to the publication and review of scholarly work, as well as the prevention of plagiarism, ghostwriting and guest authorship[1]. From the first issue, in addition to the paper version, the yearbook has also been published in its entirety on the Internet, and from 2016, the process of preparing and publishing the online version has taken place on the Open Journal Systems under license CC BY-SA 4.0. The journal uses digital identifiers for electronic documents (DOI – Digital Object Identifier). Its website is listed in the Polish Citation Database (POL-index), as well as in the databases of the Central and Eastern European Online Library, the Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities and in Humanities and Social Science Journals Database of Polish History Museum.[2][3][4] Since 2019 the journal is also listed in the international database of scientific journals – European Reference Index for the Humanities and Social Sciences (ERIH+).[5]

Content and scope[edit]

The main goal of the yearbook is to create an interdisciplinary platform for the exchange of experiences of various experts engaged in research into the broadly defined area of oral history and reflection on its methodology. Although the primary language of the journal is Polish, all articles have English summaries, and some studies appear entirely in this language. The journal presents information about current conferences, projects, research and recently published books concerning oral history. The yearbook moreover publishes results of research based on the use of sources of oral history and discussions on the methodology itself, as well as the sources of oral history. Each issue is divided into four sections that follow the main topics listed above: articles and studies, source materials, reviews, and discussions, also scientific chronicle.
