The Young Investors Challenge is an annual student-run investment competition held from January to May online. The 5-month event brings teenagers from across North America to practice investing and develop creative investment strategies.[1] The Challenge is free and open to all teenagers in Canada and the United States and requires no prior investment knowledge.[2]

History[edit]

The event was organized for the first time in January 2021 and attracted thousands of teenagers. In its first edition, it was sponsored by National Bank of Canada, DZD Hardwood, Planchers Bellefeuille, IEX Cloud, Collège Sainte-Anne, MNP, De Grandpré Chait, among others.[3]

Founding[edit]

The Young Investors Challenge was founded in 2020 by Philip P. Becker, Ryan C. Dollinger and Charles W. Frédette, CEGEP students in Montreal, QC.[4] The Challenge platform was designed and developed from scratch by the founders.[5]
