Yousef Abo Zarad (born October 6, 1990) is a Syrian-born German dermatologist.[1][2]
Early Life and Education
Abo Zarad studied medicine at Al-Baath University in Homs, Syria, and graduated in 2014. Because of the Syrian civil war, he moved to Germany in 2018. He trained in orthopedic surgery before moving to dermatology.[1][2]
Career
His work focuses on digital healthcare applications in dermatology, including telemedicine and mobile health platforms.[1]
He launched a mobile dermatology consultation app in 2024 to improve access to specialist care and provide medical information on skin health.[2]
He has also authored over 100 dermatology-related articles and case discussions on DocCheck, a German-language platform for healthcare professionals.[3] These publications are intended for clinical audiences but are not peer-reviewed.
In December 2020, he was interviewed on Al-Nahar TV about the United Kingdom’s approval of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. The interview discussed vaccine distribution and public health communication in Arabic-speaking regions.[4]
