Early life
Born and raised in Kelantan, Zain later moved to Terengganu before returning to Kelantan to attend boarding school. After completing his secondary education, he accompanied a friend to a job interview for a flight attendant position, and was unexpectedly offered the role himself. He then began working as a flight attendant with Malaysia Airlines.[1]
Career
Despite his full-time career in aviation, Zain received offers in acting, modeling, and singing. While he declined acting and singing roles due to his flight attendant duties, he accepted part-time modeling work. In 2017, he expanded into fashion by launching his own clothing brand, Pessak, starting with casual wear and later introducing traditional attire such as Baju Melayu, Baju Kurung, Baju Kurta, and Hijab.[2]
Acting
His acting career began when he portrayed Sultan Mahmud Shah in the international docudrama *Malacca: Unwritten* (2015), alongside Haeryanto Hassan and Zain Hamid. He later gained prominence for his role as journalist Hadi in *Selamat Malam Tan Sri* (2018), a 26-episode television series on RTM, acting alongside established artists such as Eizlan Yusuf and Marisa Yasmin.[1]
Additionally, Zain appeared in the TV movie *Tahyul* (2019) as Daniel, airing on Astro Citra.[3]
He also made a guest appearance on RTM’s cooking-travelogue *Spices Across Borders* in Episode 10 (2020), where he shared his experiences combining culinary and creative arts.[4]
