Zombie is a 19-minute short film based on the award-winning novella by the famous American author Joyce Carol Oates. The short film has been screened at 18 film festivals, and has won 5 awards. The film was directed by Tom Carusco, and the screenplay was adapted by Bill Connington. Zombie was first performed as a play that has three seperate productions in New York, and received critical raves. The film stars the award-winning performance of Bill Connington [1] as Quentin P. and Kelley Van Dilla plays Jamie.

Plot[edit]

A mild-mannered Jeffrey Dahmer-esque serial killer commits his final crime. What makes a 'seemingly normal' person crack? The unsettling answer: We don't know. From the award-winning novella Zombie (novel) by the famous American author Joyce Carol Oates, and the acclaimed, critically-lauded Off-Broadway play [2]. Featuring the award-winning performance of Bill Connington as 'Quentin P.' Who are our neighbors, really? Sometimes we don't like the answer.

Reception[edit]

Zombie received an award for "Best Horror" at the 2011 DC Independent Film Festival. The film also received "Best Director" , "Best Short Dramatic Screenplay" and "Best Supporting Actor" at the Terror Film Festival: Philadelphia. It won "Best First Time Director" at the California Film Awards. The film also received nominations for "Best Actor" and "Best Director" at the Terror Film Festival: Philadelphia.

Zombie was accepted into and screened at the following Film Festivals: Cleveland International Film Festival, Williamsburg International Film Festival, Boston International Film Festival, NYC International Film Festival, Atlanta Horror Festival, California Film Festival, NYC Downtown Shorts Festival, Shriekfest International Film Festival, Macabre Faire Film Festival, Terror Film Festival, ShockerFest International Film Festival, Shudder Film Festival, Tri-Cities International Film Festival, Chichon7 Film Festival, and Slaughter in Syracuse Underground Film Festival[3]
