Əbrəqunus necropolis I[edit]

Located west of the village of Əbrəqunus in the Julfa District, on the right side of the Ərəfsə-Nakhchivan road, on an elongated hill, the medieval Əbrəqunus necropolis I is surrounded by arable land. The area of the necropolis is 3200 m². In 1990-1991, exploratory research was carried out at the monument.

The tombs in the necropolis belong to different periods and have different shapes. The tombstones in the north-west direction have survived to the present day in good condition. Crescent-shaped bronze earrings were found in one of the stone-box tombs. Most of the chest stones are in the form of quadrangular prisms and are rough. Some chest stones are decorated with geometric and architectural ornaments. One of them is engraved with a schematic bird, rounded geometric lines, a plot framed with carvings of people and trees.

Fragments of unglazed, unglazed pink dishes were found in the monument. The necropolis is believed to date back to the 14th-17th centuries.[2]

Əbrəqunus necropolis II[edit]

Əbrəqunus necropolis II is a medieval archeological site located on the west side of Əbrəqunus village of Julfa District, on the right side of Ərəfsə-Nakhchivan road, not far from Əbrəqunus necropolis I, on a small hill. The area of the necropolis is 5600 m². Exploratory research was carried out on the monument in 1991.

The graves in the necropolis face the qibla. The headstones of most of the graves have been preserved. Rectangular prism-shaped chest stones are rough, the upper part of one is arched. On top of the other is a petroglyp of a man. The necropolis also has tombstones, which are widespread throughout Azerbaijan. But most of them are poorly kept.

Glazed and unglazed pottery of the late Medival Ages, high-quality faience pottery fragments were found in the necropolis. The necropolis is dated by researchers to the XIV-XVII centuries.[2]

Əbrəqunus necropolis III[edit]

Əbrəqunus necropolis III, located on the left bank of the Əbrəqunus river, southwest of the village of Əbrəqunus in the Julfa district, is a medieval age archeological site. The area of the necropolis is 1800 m². The site is surrounded by residential buildings. In the territory of the necropolis in 1991 he was involved in exploratory research.

The tombstones in the necropolis have either not been preserved or have fallen into disrepair. The tombstones of most of the tombs facing the qibla are rough. Some tombs have uncut square stones. Examination of the chest stones did not reveal any inscriptions or signs, only small geometric patterns were found on a few tombstones. Near the necropolis is the large Albanian-Christian monastery of Əbrəqunus (St. Faddei Monastery). Researchers date the Əbrəqunus necropolis III to the 16th and 18th centuries.[2]
