From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

100% is a sportswear and lifestyle brand that produces performance goggles, eyewear, helmets, gloves, protective gear and sportswear. The 100% headquarters are in San Diego, California.

History[edit]

The company was originally started in Los Angeles in 1982 by Drew Lien..[1][2] In the early 1980’s, 100% sponsored multiple factory racing teams and racers, including AMA Hall of Famers Bob Hannah, Johnny O’Mara, Ricky Johnson, Jeff Ward and David Bailey.[3] In the 80’s, the brand sold t-shirts, hats and moto parts. The brand name is derived from answering the question, "How much effort do you give?®”[4] 100%.

In 2011[5], Ludo Boinnard and Marc Blanchard bought the existing assets and on January 1st, 2012 launched a revamped, modern look for the 100% brand. [6]They reintroduced this new look with the marque product, goggles, and then expanded the line to include gloves, MTB helmets, sportswear, and protective gear as well as performance eyewear[7]

All 100% products are designed and tested in San Diego. The company manufactures its eyewear in Italy and the lenses in France with Dalloz Creations.

Technical Innovation[edit]

The 100% brand has won design awards for their goggles and performance eyewear.[8][9]

In 2018, the company partnered with AC Performance Systems to launch a new eyewear, race-tested and worn by 3-time UCI World Road Champion Peter Sagan, the Speedcraft Air. The Speedcraft Air has been worn by Sagan in multiple world tour stage wins and by Frederik Van Lierde in his 2018 win at Ironman France - Nice. Within two months of being released to the public, the Speedcraft Air was recognized as the innovation of the year and awarded the prize of “Best sport frame” at the 2018 World Optician Gala in Monaco.[10]
