The 2014–15 season was Gateshead's sixth consecutive season in the Conference Premier and their 17th at this level in total. They finished the season in 10th place in the league, and made it to the third round of the FA Cup for the first time in 60 years.[1]

Chronological list of events[edit]

  • 12 June 2014: Gateshead announce striker Jon Shaw has returned to the club, two years after leaving to join Luton Town.[3]
  • 1 July 2014: Gateshead announce the signing of striker Lewis Guy.[8]
  • 2 July 2014: Gateshead announce Paul Bryson and midfielder Micky Cummins as joint reserves & youth team coaches.[9]
  • 22 July 2014: Gateshead announce the signing of left-back Ryan Wilson following a successful trial.[12]
  • 2 August 2014: Midfielder Greg McDermott signs on non-contract terms after playing in nine of Gateshead's ten pre season games.[13]
  • 27 August 2014: Gateshead announce Marcus Maddison has joined Peterborough United for a club record, six-figure fee.[15] The fee was later reported to be an initial £250,000 with a further £250,000 depending on appearances & goals.[16]
  • 29 August 2014: Gateshead announce the signing of striker Danny Wright following his release from Forest Green Rovers.[17]
  • 11 September 2014: Gateshead announce the signing of striker Carl Finnigan until the end of the season, subject to international clearance.[18]
  • 3 October 2014: Gateshead announce the signing of midfielder Matty Pattison until the end of the season, subject to international clearance.[19]
  • 4 October 2014: Striker Danny Wright is named the Conference Player of the Month for September.[20]
  • 10 October 2014: Gateshead announce the signing of defender Callum Howe on a one-month loan from Scunthorpe United.[21]
  • 30 October 2014: It is announced that defender Nick Anderton has signed on a one-month loan from Preston North End.[23]
  • 21 January 2015: Gateshead announce striker Lewis Guy has left the club by mutual consent.[31]
  • 24 March 2015: Gateshead announce the signing of goalkeeper Joel Dixon on loan from Sunderland until the end of the season.[34]
