The Pulo Mas murders occurred between 26 and 27 December 2016 in an upscale housing suburb named Pulo Mas, in the eastern side of Jakarta, when four intruders, supposedly armed, broke into a house at that neighbourhood late at Monday, 26 December 2016, before trapping all of the house members present at the time, in an enclosed maid bathroom. In this bathroom, all 6 casualties were suffocated to death due to the lack of flowing air present, from the very enclosed space. All the individuals and bodies inside were left trapped inside overnight, before being discovered by authorities on the next day.[1]

In the late hours of Monday, 26th December 2016, a group of intruders broke into the house and was supposedly said to be armed. Though the exact hours were not stated by officials, but the intruders broke in with the intention to rob the house. Having over 11 people inside; including a 9-year old, maids, drivers, family members, and the members' friends, they were all forced into a 1.5 x 1.5 metre bathroom for the maids, where they were to be locked and trapped for the rest of the night. Over the course of hours trapped inside, 6 of the house members died inside, including the family's young daughter, only being 9 years old. The only survivors were the house's 5 maids, of which all are sent to hospital later under a critical condition. In the following Tuesday morning at the 27th of December, the bodies were discovered by authorities after they broke into the house in the day's early hours, before finding the bodies, and taking the survivors to hospitals.[3]
