He has worked with many notable artists, such as Wiz Khalifa, Rob $tone, DJ Nelson, and DJ Kazzanova, among others.

Early life and education[edit]

AROCK grew up in San Diego, California. From an early age, he was a fan of music and disc jockey culture. His father recognized his passion and gifted him DJ equipment at the age of 12[2] so he could begin learning the art of DJing.[3]

During and after high school, AROCK performed as a DJ in local San Diego nightclubs and worked at San Diego’s top radio station, Z90.3 (XHITZ-FM). AROCK would regularly distribute his DJ mixes to other DJs and stayed on top of the newest trends in music-making, such as digital music software for mixing and producing music.

AROCK graduated from Mar Vista High School in Imperial Beach, California in 2005.

Career[edit]

AROCK worked at San Diego’s Z90.3 (XHITZ-FM) from 2006 to 2010. During his time in radio, AROCK was introduced to many artists, including rapper, singer, and songwriter Wiz Khalifa, and his label Warner Records Inc. (formerly Warner Bros. Records). AROCK recognized star potential in the single, "Say Yeah" and is credited as one of the first DJs to support and break the record on San Diego radio.

Through AROCK’s various businesses in San Diego, he has helped revive the growing music and DJ cultural scene in the city. Although San Diego was in close proximity to Los Angeles, many artists would typically pass by San Diego during promotional tours. However, with AROCK’s businesses such as BPM Supreme[4][5] and BPM Latino, would bring artists and talent to the city, his offices, and local radio stations.[6]

Later, AROCK also founded online DJ store BPM Supply, music management agency BPM MGMT Co., and design agency Ensemble Design Co.

AROCK founded BPM MGMT Co. in 2019. The roster of artists currently signed to BPM MGMT Co. include hip hop artists Rossi Rock and Rob $tone,[7] Latin DJs and record producers DJ Nelson and DJ Kazzanova, UK-based DJ and renowned turntablist DJ Angelo, and DJ, producer, and vocalist Rhiannon Roze.

BPM Supreme[edit]

In 2006, BPM Supreme originated as a local record pool in San Diego, CA providing physical data discs full of the month’s top music to local DJs. With just two employees, AROCK would begin distributing monthly music and mixes on CDs, building momentum and meeting valuable business partners who would help eventually help his CD distribution turn into a fully functioning digital platform.[8][6][9]

In 2008, digital DJing had started to gain more popularity, and AROCK realized there was a need in the industry for digital format-focused music/record pools. In 2011, BPM Supreme officially became an online digital music delivery service.

In 2019, BPM Supreme has more than 40 employees and two locations in downtown San Diego, California and Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. BPM Supreme has signed music licensing agreements with major records labels such as Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group, Empire Records, Dim Mak Records, Mad Decent, and other independent record labels.

Notable DJs who regularly use BPM Supreme include DJ Jazzy Jeff, Z-Trip, A-Trak, The Chainsmokers, DJ Snoopadelic, Sky Rompiendo, Deorro, 3LAU, and DJ Chuckie.

BPM Supreme has helped break records for many artists, DJs, and producers, and has received a commemorative plaque to recognize the role it had in helping rapper Tyga’s hit single “Taste” reach 5x platinum in the United States by the RIAA.
