Abu Yasir (Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.) is a Iraqi Islamic State member and munshid, known for the nasheeds Salil al-Sawarim and Ummati Qad Laha Fajrun.[1]

Biography

Abu Yasir was born in Iraq.[2] Abu Yasir was originally a member of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula before joining the Islamic State.[3] Abu Yasir is one of the main munshids a part of the Islamic State, the others being Khallad al-Qahtani, Abu Muawiyah al-Najdi and Abu Hamza al-Qurashi.[4][5] He sings nasheeds in both Iraqi and Najdi dialect of Arabic in order to expand Jihadist propaganda efforts.[6]

The last anasheed he sang were Kunta Hurran (March 2018)[7] and Hadhihi al-Ukhuwatu (July 2018),[8] both sung together with Abu Muawiyah al-Najdi. There is no information about what happened to him after that.
