Adé Olufeko (/ɑːˈdeɪ/ ah-DAY; born 1980), is a Nigerian-American designer, technologist and entrepreneur.[1][2] The notoriety of his work in different fields led to the formation of Visual Collaborative, a festival platform.[3]
Early life and education[edit]
Olufeko of Ijebu descent, was born in Minneapolis; He spent his formative years in the capital city of Lagos, Nigeria, where he attended St. Gregory's College.[1] In the 1990s he relocated back to the Twin Cities, studying Computer Science and Multimedia at Metropolitan State University, Saint Paul.[4]
Career[edit]
In 1999-2000,[citation needed] Olufeko began his technology career at an Internet service provider.[4] His immersion in web design and digital properties as an early adopter, garnered him notable projects with Warner Music Group, PayPal, Adobe Systems, Atlantic Records, and Bank of America. He's work came to notoriety within the English speaking African diaspora for its online signature collection of motion designs.[5][6]
In thought leadership, Olufeko has addressed audiences at Harvard Business School, Carnegie Mellon and Lagos Business School on a series of lectures on business collaborations and digital new media. In the Spring of 2007, Olufeko launched Visual Collaborative, an exhibitions and symposium platform in the United States.
