Adam Jones is an American sports radio talk show host on WBZ-FM in Boston, Massachusetts, and host of The Adam Jones Show.

Career[edit]

Originally from Newport, Vermont, Adam Jones attended Northeastern University (NU) from 2003–2008 where he majored in Communication Studies. While at NU, Jones served as Sports Director at WRBB (104.9 FM), the university's student-run radio station. In addition to his leadership role, Jones hosted a weekly radio show – the Dog Pound Sports Sound on Friday nights,[2] and was the play-by-play broadcaster for the Northeastern Huskies football and Northeastern Huskies men's basketball teams.[3]

In 2006, Jones began working at 890 ESPN as an intern for the The Mike Felger Show. After graduating from NU in 2008, Jones became a full-time employee.[4] The Mike Felger Show ended in July 2008 when Felger left to join WEEI. Jones continued working at ESPN Boston reporting on the Boston Red Sox from Fenway Park and hosting the Boston weekend edition of ESPN Radio SportsCenter until the station went off the air in September 2009.[5][6]

After the demise of ESPN Boston, Jones joined 98.5 FM The Sports Hub where he was a fill-in weekday host, and co-hosted the Saturday-morning The Dan Shaughnessy Show from 2009–2011 with Boston Globe columnist Dan Shaughnessy.[7][8]

On April 8, 2011, Jones joined ESPNBoston where he hosted the internet-only show ESPN Boston Radio with Adam Jones.[9] The show aired live Monday–Friday from 12:00–2:00 p.m. Drew Brooks served as the show's producer and was Jones' on-air co-host.[10] The show ran until August 1, 2012, when it was discontinued in advance of ESPN's October 2012 return to the Boston over-the-air market on 850-AM.[11]

On December 20, 2012, CBS Boston announced that Jones would replace Damon Amendolara as The Sports Hub's evening host of The Adam Jones Show airing Monday–Friday from 6:00–11 p.m. (7:00 p.m.–12:00 a.m. at the conclusion of the Red Sox season).[12]
