Teflon treatment[edit]
For its Spring 1997 clothing collection, the company began treating its garments with DuPont Teflon fabric protector,[1][5] which featured prominently in advertisements of the time, such as this example from Florida Today.[6] This followed action in the fall of 1996 by Koret of California to treat a collection of wool garments with the material, which followed by three decades the first use of Teflon by London Fog for treatment of their rainwear.[1] Though complaints arose from people experiencing a great deal of static cling from Teflon treated silk, Papell stated that they had received no complaints in regard to their garments.[7]
