Alanan Castle (Persian: قلعه آلانان) and its geographical location are depicted as Salm escapes from the war. The location of the castle is between water and land, or it came out of the sea. This castle is exceptional among other ancient castles of Shahnameh.
The war on the castle shore[edit]
Fereydun ordered Manuchehr to go to war with his two sons and destroy them. The great commanders of Manuchehr were Qaren, Gershaps, Sām and Shiroui. Manuchehr the great army followed the Tur and sent Qaren to pursue Salm. According to the Shahnameh, three great wars took place in three days and on the first day of the battle Tur was killed by Manuchehr.
On the other hand, Qaren fought Salm, which was not in Salm favor, especially when he received news of Tur death. The Rome king was thinking of taking refuge in the castle of Alanan, but Qaren learned of He plan. Qaren handed over the Iranian army to Shiroui and went to Alanan Castle with a number of warriors to conquer the fort. When he arrived at the beach, Salm noticed that there were no boats on the beach to board him.[1]
