Alex Wood is a London-based British journalist, a former editor of Tech City News and the founder of the news site, The Memo.[1][2][3]
Career[edit]
Wood launched Tech City News in 2013[4] which was picked up at Lovie Awards as the News Website of the Year in the same year. The website had notably won against FT and The Huffington Post.[5]
Wood quit his job as the editor of the Tech City News in 2015 and founded the tech news website The Memo upon realizing gaps in the way media platforms did their job.[1][6][3][7]
In late 2016, The Memo received a £280,000 investment. The site has been awarded four media awards including Best Specialist Site for Journalism at the Online Media Awards.[8] According to Talking Media, Wood's venture is a conceptually a cross between Wired and The Economist.[9]
Alex Wood has written for and appeared on most mainstream print and television media such as CNN,[10] CityAM,[6] Medium.com,[11] and been a judge of Forbes 30 under 30 awards[12] among others.[13][8][14][9][3]
