David Brough

David Brough (born 22 June 1962) is a British journalist specialising in jewellery and gemstone markets and is co-founder and Editor of digital magazine Jewellery Outlook.[1]

Since 2017, Brough has been the Precious Metals and Gems Editor of International Jewellery London (IJL)[2], an annual UK jewellery trade fair organised by Reed Exhibitions.

Brough worked for Reuters for over 30 years until 2016, including postings as a foreign correspondent in the United States, Ecuador, Venezuela, Cyprus, Portugal and Italy.

While based in Rome from 1999 to 2004, he won the 2002-03 A.H. Boerma award of the UN. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) for his reporting on hunger issues.[3][4]

Brough has contributed articles about jewellery and gemstone markets to publications and websites, including Rapaport Magazine, Jewelry Connoisseur[5], Baselworld Daily News, Retail Jeweller[6], The Jeweller, Forbes India, IJL[7], Jewellery & Watch (Birmingham), and GemGeneve.
