Algotec Systems Ltd. is an Israeli private company developing software for the medical information systems industry, founded by Dr. Menashe Benjamin in 1992. The company was acquired by Eastman Kodak Company in 2003[1] and in 2007 by Onex Corp. [2], making it part of Carestream Health Inc. The company was acquired again in August 2019 by Koninklijke Philips N.V. [3] Algotec provides healthcare facilities with cloud based as well as web enabled, advanced solutions for medical image management. This includes archiving, workflow orchestration, image distribution, image review and processing using Artificial Intelligence, advanced interactive multimedia reporting, and teleradiology/telehealth. These solutions are available through its Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS), Radiology Information Systems (RIS), Teleradiology Systems, Multi-Site Image Management Systems (SuperPACS), Clinical Data Archiving and eHealth Managed Services.

The company is best known for developing in 1996 the first Web based image distribution and reading system for teleradiology[4], which has become the industry’s gold standard. Other solutions developed by the company are the world’s first virtual non-invasive kidney catheterization, kidney Image Registration and Segmentation for 3D radiation treatment planning, the One Radiology Desktop Concept, the SuperPACS[5], and the Orchestrator.
