Ali Aqla Arsan (born January 1, 1941)[1] is a Syrian playwright, poet, and writer.
Early life[edit]
He was born in a village in the village of Saida, Daraa, on January 1, 1941. In 1959 he joined the Higher Institute for Dramatic Arts in Cairo and graduated in 1963, earning a diploma. Thereafter, he went to France, where he obtained a second diploma in theater in 1966; before; obtaining a Doctorate in literature and human sciences in 1993.[2]
Career[edit]
Throughout his career he worked as a director of theater, an assistant to the Minister of Culture, President of the Arab Writers Union, Secretary-General of the General Union of Arab Writers and Writers, Deputy Secretary-General of the Federation of Asia and Africa Writers, Co-Chair of the National Council for Arab Culture in Rabat, and Assistant Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Publishers. He is currently a member of the General Secretariat of the Forum for Arab Revolutionary Democratic Dialogue, Chairman of the Intellectual Committee at the Forum, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Prize for Poetic Creativity.[3]
He has directed twenty theatrical works for the Syrian National Theater, and has also wrote for TV.[3]
