Altigreen Propulsion Labs Pvt. Ltd., founded in 2013 is an Indian electric vehicle company based in Bangalore. Altigreen focuses on commercial Electric vehicle (EVs) for last mile (transportation) and logistics.
History[edit]
Altigreen was conceptualized in July–August 2011 when the Toyota Prius was released in India. The price was considered to be too expensive for most Indians.[by whom?] The company was founded by four people[who?] in 2013 to build electric drivetrain for hybrid conversions.[1]
In 2016, the focus was shifted entirely to electric vehicles. In 2018, Altigreen displayed a fully electric three-wheeler at AutoExpo in New Delhi.
Products[edit]
As of 2021 Altigreen manufactures L5 category electric 3-wheeled cargo haulers meant for commercial usage.[2] The vehicle is named neEV and is sold in three variants on the cargo bed.
The vehicle has received type approval from ARAI for operation in India.
All neEV models are powered by fixed 11 kWh lithium-ion batteries, have a payload capacity of 550 kg, and a top speed of 53 kmph. Under ARAI test-conditions neEV has a range of 151 km for a single charge.[3]
Altigreen neEV is eligible for Indian government subsidies under the FAME-II scheme.[4] [5]
Facilities[edit]
Altigreen has a production facility in Bangalore and offices in Delhi, Pune, and Mysore. There are authorized service centres in major Indian cities.
Sales[edit]
In March 2021, Altigreen partnered with COGOS Technologies, a logistics platform for intra-city logistics, to deploy 1000 Altigreen vehicles across various cities in India.[6] In June 2021, Altigreen partnered with MoEVing, an EV fleet operator to deploy Altigreen vehicles.[7]
