Andriy Volodymyrovych Khlyvnyuk (Ukrainian: Андр́ій Володи́мирович Хливню́к; born December 31, 1979, Cherkasy) - Ukrainian musician, vocalist and lyricist of the "BoomBox" band.[1][2]

Biography[edit]

Andriy Khlyvnyu kwas born on December 31, 1979 in Cherkassy. He studied at a music school in the class of accordion and in business college on the graphic designer. During his study for specialty translator in Cherkasy National University named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky he started playing in the band "Mandarin paradise" (Ukrainian: «Мандариновий рай»). In 2001 the band won at the festival "Pearls of the Season" and the musicians of the band moved to Kyiv. In the capital, Andriy became interested in jazz and swing, he was singing with the club staff Acoustic Swing Band. Later from the participants of three groups - Acoustic Swing Band, Dust Mix and "Tartak" - the group "Graphite" was created in which Andriy was a vocalist.[3]

In 2004 Andriy Khlyvnyuk, along with guitarist of the group "Tartak" Andrey Samoylo organized funk-groove band "Boombox".[3] For several years the band became very popular in Ukraine and Russia. In April 2005 the first album "Melomania" was recorded. In 2006, a second plate «Family Business" was released, which received gold status in Ukraine (currently sold over 100,000 copies of the disc).[4]

Khlyvnyuk was a sound producer of singer’s Nadine album, which the duo performed their own song "Do not know" in 2007, then they took a clip. The duo won the award "The most surprising project of the year" according to the portal E-motion.

In summer 2007 the composition "Vahteram" hit the airwaves of radio stations of Russia, and in autumn the composition "ta4to" came to rotation of Moscow’s radio.Eventually the band "Boombox" was in interests of Russian record companies, and with company "Monolith" they signed a contract for the publication of albums "Melomania" and "Family Business", output of which took place on June 10, 2008. In August 2009 Khlyvniuk, along with Eugene Koshoviy and Potap, voiced in Ukrainian the French action film "District 13: Ultimatum." Andriy voiced the French police Damien.

In December 2009 the band released a joint album with Kiev DJ Tonique. The presentation of the album "All Inclusive" took place in Kiev on June 24,2010. In late 2011 the album "Middle Age" was released.

Since 2015, Khlyvniuk is one of the judges of the sixth season of the program X-Factor.[5]

Awards[edit]

Andriy was the winner of music award "YUNA" in 2012 and 2013 in the category "Best by words." In 2012, he gave his award to Yuri Rybczynski.[6]

He received the award "YUNA" in 2016. in the categories Best Song ( "Zlyva") and best duo (Jamala, AndriyKhlyvnyuk, Dmitry Shurov).

Personal life[edit]

In July 2010 it was reported that Khlyvniuk married with Anna Kopylova — the graduate of the Institute of Journalism of the University of Shevchenko, daughter of Vadim Kopylov, who was at that time the deputy minister of finance of Ukraine. Andriy and Anna has a son Ivan (born in 2010) and a daughter Alexandra (born in 2013).
