Andriy Volodymyrovych Khlyvnyuk (Ukrainian: Андр́ій Володи́мирович Хливню́к; born December 31, 1979, in Cherkasy) is a Ukrainian musician, vocalist, and lyricist of the band "BoomBox".[1][2]
Biography[edit]
Andriy Khlyvnyuk was born on December 31, 1979, in Cherkasy. He studied at a music school and a business college before attending Cherkasy National University, where he played in the band "Mandarin Paradise" (Ukrainian: «Мандариновий рай»). In 2001, the band moved to Kyiv, and Andriy became interested in jazz and swing, singing with the Acoustic Swing Band. Later, he formed the group "Graphite" with members from Acoustic Swing Band, Dust Mix, and "Tartak".
In 2004, Andriy Khlyvnyuk and Andrey Samoylo from "Tartak" formed the funk-groove band "BoomBox". The band gained popularity in Ukraine and Russia, releasing albums like "Melomania" (2005) and "Family Business" (2006). Khlyvnyuk also produced singer Nadine's album and voiced a character in the French film "District 13: Ultimatum". Since 2015, he has been a judge on the Ukrainian TV series "X-Factor".[3]
Awards[edit]
Andriy Khlyvnyuk won the music award "YUNA" in 2012, 2013, and 2016 in categories such as "Best by words" and "Best Song".[4]
Personal life[edit]
In July 2010, Khlyvnyuk married Anna Kopylova. They have a son Ivan (born in 2010) and a daughter Alexandra (born in 2013).
