Anil Kumar Rai is an academician, administrator and author who has been the first Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Central University. Prof. Rai took over as VC of MGCU from Prof. Arvind Kumar Agarwal in November 2018.[6][7] [1][4] [8]He is a member of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad(ABVP).[9]

Early life and education[edit]

Anil Kumar Rai completed his B.A.(Hons.), M.A., M.Phil. and PhD from University of Delhi, Delhi.[2]

Carrier[edit]

Rai has served as the Dean, Students' Welfare, Dean, School of Social Sciences and Humanities, Dean, School of Education, Director, Centre for Communication and Media Studies and Head of department of Mass Communication at Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya.[10][1][11][3][12] [5] He was the founder head of the department of mass communication at Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University. [9][3]

Politics[edit]

Rai was Vice-President of the ABVP Vidarbha unit, Maharashtra.[9]
