Architecture Discipline is an Indian multidisciplinary architecture practice based in New Delhi.[1][2][3][4]
History[edit]
Architecture Discipline was founded in 2007 by Akshat Bhatt.[5][6]
In 2019, the firm designed a co-working space in partnership with The Common Room Foundation, a non-profit based in Delhi’s Dhan Mill compound.[7]
Architecture Discipline also developed the idea of recycling shipping containers into make-shift hospitals and community medical centres after refurbishing them with the necessary medical technology to meet the increased need of medical infrastructure in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.[8][9][10] In 2021, Architecture Discipline designed and built two such primary healthcare units for the Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinics (AAMC) program, in the union territory of New Delhi in India.[11][12]
"Toorji Ka Jhalra", an 18th century step-well in Jodhpur, was re-designed by Architecture Discipline as part of the JDH Urban Regeneration Project in 2020.[13][14]
In May 2020, the practice developed sChoker, the sChoker, neck brace device inspired by the traditional choker for social distancing. It comes with an infrared-based smart warning system that alerts the wearer when other people get too close. It is lightweight and made with carbon fibre.[15][16]
