Arif Nizami
Arif Nizami (Urdu: عارِف نِظامی ), is a Pakistani journalist and a former editor of The Nation, a Pakistani newspaper. He has worked in this field in Pakistan for over 30 years. Since 2010, he is the editor of Pakistan Today newspaper which he founded in 2010 and also the CEO of Channel 24.[1][2][3]
Career
He had to leave The Nation newspaper due to personal disagreements with his famous journalist uncle, the late Majid Nizami (1928 – 2014) who was the Managing Director and Chief Executive at the family-owned newspapers at that time, whereas Arif Nizami was a part-owner and a director of the company.[2] Since 2010, he is the editor of Pakistan Today newspaper which he founded in 2010.[1]. He is the son of the late Hameed Nizami (1915 – 1962), who founded Nawa-i-Waqt Group of newspapers in 1941. [2] In 2015, Arif Nizami was assigned CEO of Channel 24 which is one of the major news channels in Pakistan. [4] He was also the host of a political talk show "Debate News Analysis". [4] Arif Nizami is also known for previously hosting a current affairs show on Samaa TV. [4]
His comments and viewpoint are regularly sought by many Pakistani TV channels as well as major English language international newspapers.[5][3]
