Asma Azaizeh (Arabic:أسماء عزايزة) is a Palestinian poet, born in 1985 AC in Daburriyah village, The Lower Galilee. Today, she works and lives in the city of Haifa.
Education and Career[edit]
Asma Azaizeh earned the bachelorette degree in journalism and English literature from the University of Haifa. She writes articles about culture for newspapers and follow up, local and, Arabic publications, among them is, Fusha Cultural Magazine. She worked as a programs presenter for radio and television channels. She now manages a project that she started which goes by the name “The courtyard of Poetry” (original name: Fina’ al-She’r). Her volume of poetry “Liwa” earned the Debut Writer Award from Al Qattan Foundation in 2010. After that she published two more volumes of poetry: “As The Woman From Lod Bore Me” (original title: Kama Waladatni al-Leddeyya) 2015 and “Don’t Believe Me if I talked to you of War” (original title: La Tosadiqoni en Hadathtukum an al-Harb) 2019. She published her poems in a poetry anthology for Palestinian and German poets.[1] She also participates in anthologies and poetry festivals around the world. Some of her poems were translated into English, German, French, Persian, Swedish, Spanish, Slavic and more.
Asma Azaizeh worked in several media agencies, among them is the News Department in The Sun Radio, the Editorial Department of al-Madina newspaper in Haifa, the news and monthly reports editor at the Arab Foundation for Human Rights.
Recently she was working as an artistic director of Fattoush book store, and Fattoush gallery before the project was halted.
