Ave Fenix Pictures is a film studio located in Chicago, Illinois. Founded by Mónica Esmeralda León in 2014, it has been described as one of the first Latino film studios in the Chicago metropolitan area.[1]

Ave Fenix Pictures utilizes La Raza filmmaking which specifically ensures that Latino filmmakers with diverse artistry backgrounds from the United States, Mexico, and the United Kingdom are utilized in the studio's motion pictures.[2][3]

History[edit]

Adios Vaya Con Dios was the first film of the studio, which was characterized by mixing actors with street artists, bands and residents of Chicago's Latino neighborhoods.[4] The movie also uses a rock soundtrack over an urban gangster film utilizing music from Mexico and the United Kingdom.[5]

Arise from Darkness was released in 2017. The film claims to be the first to use electronic voice phenomena (EVP) recorded by the Archdiocese of Detroit.[6][7]
